The Events Industry Council (EIC) certifies individuals through an internationally recognized certification program that evaluates the competency of meeting professionals. With only 11,000 meeting professionals in 55 countries around the globe holding the CMP designation, it represents the standard of excellence in today’s meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry.  The qualifications for certification are based on professional experience and education, and a rigorous exam.

Perhaps there are aspects of your meeting where a meeting planner would be very useful, but you don’t have the budget to bring someone in for the entire event.  In these cases, it is always a good idea to talk with meeting planners and get their perspective on what they can provide and how they might be able to break up the workload so that it does fit into your budget.  Also, an experienced meeting planner has negotiating skills that alone could offset any costs of this investment and possibly save on your entire meeting budget.
